The 2019 Mirrorball Gala was a fundraising event that honours Look Good Feel Better - Canada’s only charitable organization dedicated to helping women manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment.
The task was to create the video content for their stage screens - including the walk-in and show look as well as all items they had up for auction.
We were limited on assets, but their team granted me a lot of flexibility on the creative direction for these pieces. With the help of a 3D Animator, we decided to make something that matched the elegance and beauty of the event. The motif for that year's event was a diamond, and therefore, we simulated a diamond rotating, giving off reflections as it moved.
In order to enhance the effect, we duplicated the diamond and duplicated them resulting in the reflections appearing randomized, as if you were peering into the diamond itself. What you're left with is an eye-catching loop that complimented the atmosphere of the rest of the event.
I was also responsible for sourcing the voiceover talent and background music for the auction videos - again with the importance that it everything matched the aesthetic of the event.
