Clarins is a French luxury brand that creates high-end skin care, cosmetics and perfume products. Their Visual Merchandising team approached us to create some content for a front store display they were installing at one of their retail locations. Instead of using a more traditional display, they selected a transparent OLED screen as their hardware.

This brought forth a unique opportunity on how to approach the content.

Their only ask was to profile several of their ingredients and that they used in their products, and that they would leave it to us to determine the creative approach.

With the help of a 3D animator, we textured and modelled the ingredients using references provided by the client and references we found online. We settled on a motif of the ingredients blooming since they were all plant based.

I wanted to utilize macro-based shots with subtle panning to really show off the detail in the models. We also included an image enhancement and a description of the ingredient to make it informative while still being eye-catching.

Upon completion, we were also told that they would like to reuse the creative and concept for other retail locations in the future.
